center instrument panel/radio

ATTENTION: Do not stick any form of tape, especially "Scotch Type" transparent tape on the chromed panel surrounding the radio, AC controls, etc. I did this to tape a reminder note. When I removed the note the next morning the chrome plating came off with it. A replacement panel costs $120.00 plus freight.

Yes, it is known as plasti-a-chrome. You can use the tape the 3M sells for applying to drywall that removes by stretching it down. It didn't cause any problems on my 06, when I dumped it.
Thank you, USVibrant.

Most definetly!!! However, the suggestion to simply repaint it; is not a bad idea. Too late for me, however; I just replaced mine over the weekend.

Just another idea for anyone with this issue. If you don't want to paint it, you could rap it with vinyl. I used red carbon fibre vinyl and warped the center console (including the vents), the shifter base, the instruments cluster, the door switches, the dash air vents and the rear cup holder. I have a custom red and black interior already installed and this gave it my personal touch. Is was also much cheaper then a replacement.
Red 06, hood stripe, red & black leather interior, tow package, Monsoon radio, iPod jack, body lift, Tbar crank, Bilstein f & r shocks, extended bump stops, air horn, fender flares w/splash guards, 35 tires, touring exhaust, H3 tips, AirDoc's intake, K&N filter, tune, UCP, diff skid, engine coil spring delete, ported throttle body, ladder, Thor bumper/bull bar, 12,500 winch, dual batteries, Tmax controller, KC lights, color grille, shock skids, rock sliders, roof rack
