Picked up alive by a 50 foot sport fish going from La to Texas, close to the Gunnison rig. From 2Cool:

We are just giving all the praise to our Lord! This is truely a miracle! We are relaying info back to family that can not be here right this minute.

This is the story straight from the horses mouth. Friday at Midnight they had fallen asleep when a big wave crashed over the boat and woke Tressel up. He realized that the boat was taking on water and woke up James and Kurt. The bilge pump was not working and the boat quickly took on water and turned over. The three climbed on to the bottom of the boat and then started grabbing what ever they could that was floating around them. They basically lived off of Beer, Peanut Butter Cheese crackers and Barbecue Potato Chips. They would swim under the boat and salvage what ever they could including the canopy from the top of the boat which they used as shade during the day and a cover at night. They saw Tuna, Black Tip Sharks and also a big Whale Shark. These guys kept it together and rationed out what they had and most importantly they asked the lord to be with them. One of the men were even saved and baptized on this journey, how Awsome is that. Sometimes I believe that things happen for reasons that are bigger that we can understand. All I know is God played his hand in this one. Everyone has one heck of a story to here once the guys are ready to tell it. Thank You so much to all of you that prayed and kept hope alive to bring these men home.

Here's a sample of what's hanging from my garage ceiling. The reason they are on the ceiling is if I forget to close the garage door, the door covers them when the door is raised. There is quite of an investment hanging up there.

The first 4 are GLoomis cranking rods with Shimano Calcutta reels. The last 4 in first pic are GLoomis GLX rods (8th rod is the collapsable flippin' stick) with Shimano Calais reels

The 2nd pic is mainly All Star rods with various Shimano reels. There is also my salt water rod with a mini Warn winch on it.

Good idea about the garage door

Not sure I want to keep my rods in the garage with all that salt air, but it seems like that's what everyone does around here.

EPIRB, VHF in a ditch bag with signal mirror, GPS, sat phone would have been a big help but they kept their heads and came out alive.

Yup, made me speed up my plans to get an EPIRB and I have one on the way. I picked up a handheld VHF too, and will be putting together ditch bag with some other stuff.

If I end up in the water, I'd like to be found as soon as possible.

Good timing! I literally just registered my PLB with SARSAT/NOAA. So when I head 50 miles offshore tomorrow at least I'll have a PLB and a hand held VHF, which will also serve as a backup should the boat VHF ever fail.

You guys use those self-inflating life vests? I love them...much more confortable to wear around all day

The fish weren't biting, at least not my lures

Listening to the radio, it seems the big fish had disappeared from most of the spots out there. Big Southern, Hospital Rocks, and Aransas Bank were not getting good bites according to the reports.

A large shrimp boat anchored up about 4 miles away and a few boats headed out to troll around it. We did the same, but nothing was biting there either.

I find it amazing that you can travel nearly 50 miles offshore, barely see a boat and then find a dozen all in one spot.

There was a lot of cloud cover and a bit of wind and 2-4' seas on the way out. It rained heavy on the coast, but we never saw a drop. By 3:00pm the seas had built up to 4-6', so it was time to head home.

Haven't seen that. Just got back in from another day on the water. Caught one Mahi, but not much biting and not many people out there today.
