I'm considering purchasing a UTV also. I hear a lot about the rhinos but I am beginning to settle in on the Polaris Razor. It goes 55mph stock with a twin cylinder 800cc right out of the crate. Plus the thing is less than a thousand pounds stock.
Thoughts???
It really comes down to the brand loyality thing IMO. I have been on a couple of forums where belts have been sredded on those...but upgrades are available. They are smaller inside than a Rhino. So if you're a big person, it may be a tight fit. If you are after the speed and you are going to do a few upgardes, That Razr or Rhino will break the 60mph top end easily. The Razr has lower center of gravity and is hands down faster in stock form over the Rhino but has less clearance. SO there are tradeoffs between those two. That new Kawi Teryx is one bad machine. I road with one of those in Moab that was modified. It has a twin in it so it's got a ton of low end torque. sidexsideforums has quite a few opions on all of them. I'd start there and than go drive a few. If you sing up on one of the forums, I'm sure someone in your area would take you out for a spin. If you're local to Denver, you can drive the Rhino to see if you like that.
Well written response. I have been in a Rhino, and I like it, especially since I'm a big guy. I liked the additional performance of the Polaris, since it is close stock to a supercharged Rhino. I do want it (whatever) to be fast, and I will very likely modify it with engine mods and LT suspension, so it's a close call. I'm in KY where we have the Daniel Boone nat'l forest that restricts 4-wheel vehicles on a lot of trails to 60"wide. That fits the stock width Polaris, but not the Rhino. Didn't know about the Kawasaki, I'll go give it a look see.
Again, thanks for the advice!
