Birds

Postby PhilD » Wed Jan 21, 2009 12:02 pm

I know we have some keen bird watchers here, so let's see some bird pics. Although I live in a place that gives me plenty of opportunity to takes pics of birds, I sadly have very few.

Past few days I've been attacked by this little girl. She decided to build a nest on a little tree we have right in front of our front door.

Pretty cool how they make their nest out of spider webs.

She is probably a Rufous or Allen's Hummingbird

Best I can tell looking at her rump color, length of bill and bib plumage.

Very nice photos!

Here are a couple I've taken over the years. The first two where back in 1994 from my college days with real black and white film on my old school André Aggasi Canon Rebel. The others were taken with my Canon D20.

Enjoy!

You're like the Bird Man from Alcatraz. That's cool!

Phil, thanks for the complement!

Clearly I should practice more at bird shots, and I could have used a bit more lens at times.

I know that one, it's a Blue Water Tower South Padre Island Texas sand dune crane.
