Having too much fun making video. :yup:

Check this out. 75 mph run in about 40 degree weather. Landed the biggest Bass of my life that day (I've broke off bigger)

I called my buddy Ray (sometime tournament partner) and told him about it after I caught it. When he asked if I had a camera with me, and I replied no - he drove the 60 miles from home to the weigh in spot with a camera. :yup:

It did hold up for big fish of the day (10.50 pounds) and I won $450 for that single fish - Just enough to have a good fiberglass reproduction made (fish was released) that hangs on my wall.

The fish in the video - I broke off her twin sister today. :wall: :wall: :wall: absolutely heartbreaking. :(

I did get a 4.5 pound fish in the boat today to top off our 7 fish limit but we only finished in 25th place. :x

We are having a bad year I guess. In the last couple of years we were contenders for team of the year and finished in second place overall both years and won enough money to cover expenses at least. This year we can't even pull off a top ten finish.

I think much of it has to do with my Hummer hobby and not devoting enough time and practice into fishing. Atleast not enough to play on a tounament level.

So one or the other has to go I think. Sure will miss the tourney circuit.

That reminds me - I saw today the local on water bar has a new sign facing the water, it reads:

"Welcome to Bethel Island - A small drinking comunity with a fishing problem."

As an aside, someone just got caught here with 2,200lb of snapper from coastal waters and received a $10,000 fine. Someone else took under and over sized trout, 12 fish got them $3,600 in fines.

They actually "negotiated" the fine down from $15,000 :duh:

They are pretty strict around here, Parks & Wildlife are very active pulling boats over and checking the coolers.

It all depends on the age of your chirens.
I've taken mine to wally world, and let them each pick out a "cool" rod set. Snoopy, Scooby, Dora... pick up some fish bites, and you're done. Then they get to take the rod home with them and go "play fishing" with the plastic sinker they usually come with.
But most of all, just have fun!

IMO
