I have to learn how to weld aluminium!
The engineering shop across the road from my work had some 170mm..sorry..6 1/2" pipe. Pretty heavy guage which was a bit of an overkill but free wins every time!!!!
I started trying to modify and early Disco air box but gave up . I did rescue the lid and then got a local shop to cast some urethane over it and around the body tube to creat the lid. Seals really well and enabled me to replace the filter easily which was an obvious design requirement!!!
I also put in a water drain using a "rubber duck bill". Not 100% convinced yet as when I bench tested it using a vacum cleaner to create suction, I got some water through. Thinking i will block it up again and trust the snorkel not to take in water.
Any thoughts greatfully accepted here as I have never built an airbox before!
