And wear your goggles, and maybe a mask over your mouth, too. I had a face full of crap, but then again my truck is pretty old.

Not quite yet. I plan to do it today but right now it's still about 40 degrees outside. Burrrr!

Yep, already planned on goggles and dust mask. My truck is still fairly clean but there is some flaky rust on the bolts.

Hey, did you have to drop the crossmember? It looks pretty tight.

Didn't have to drop the cross member. Moved two heat shields out of the way. Also, there's a bracket that held the old cat pipe to the xfer case. You can ditch that mount when you install the pipe. Well, that's what we did on mine and my buddy did the same on his 02 HMCO.

What does the popcorn maker do? Why did you install it if you think it is ugly?

It makes popcorn and I installed it because my kids love popcorn. ;)

It's a precleaner. It keeps 85-99% of the crap out of your airfilter. When you start the engine, 4 blades (almost like short windshield wipers) start to spin (they get their movement just from the air flow), air enters the bottom and into the clear chamber, as air passes the blades hit the particulate stuff and knocks it out an exhaust port on the side. They've been used on tractors etc. for years.

I installed it prepping for the race in April which I expect to be very dusty. I'll leave it on for awhile to be sure there's no issues with it coming loose and then take it off until the race. Then I'll only use it in desert runs.

I ran death valley twive in the H2. On the second trip my air filter clogged to the point that I needed to stop and clean it.

Thought about it. I want to be able to see it working but may just leave a clear window at the back of it.
