Ordered a ported throttle body today. Looking forward to the feel of more power. Going to try to install the body lift next week.

It was a beautiful day today, so I installed the DayStar 1 inch body lift. I did it by myself and it took me about 3 hours. It should not have taken that long, but I was using a 35 year old floor jack that was very tempermental. The instructions were not even close to being correct for my truck. They are for a V8 H3T and of course I have a I5 H3. I had many spare parts left over. The end result was as you might expect, the truck sits 1 inch higher! I feel just a little roll going into turns that was not there before. I'll post pictures in the next couple of day.

My ported throttle body showed up today. I could not wait, so I installed it right away. No doubt there is an immediate seat of the pants increase. Gas pedal is much touchier and I sense there really is a bit more horse power. The truck has a jump it never had. Now to be fair, my throttle body was in need of service. Paid the dealer to do it less then a year ago and I find it hard to believe it got that dirty that quick. I also run fuel cleaner through the system every couple of tanks full. Does not look like that does much good either.

Very easy install, four bolts, one plug, one vacuum line, and removal of the intake (hose clamps). Took 30 minutes including the reprogram of 10 minutes. I would recommend the upgrade to any I5 owner.

Thinking about removing my running boards and installing rock sliders next. Shopping around as I am not sure if I should go with stock H3, Rocky Roads or have a custom set made to close the gap of the body lift. I feel like I am going in circles on this one since I don't know anything about them.

Looks like I will be getting a set of rock sliders made from Schwarttzy.com to fit up tight on my body lift. I have not officially ordered them yet, but when I do they will take a couple of weeks to be completed. They will be the first and we will work out the fit so they can make others. This will give other H3 owners with a body lift the choice of running stock with a 1 inch gap or running Schwarttzy's heavy duty units that are built to fit up tight to the body. I'll keep you posted on the progress!

The slider mock up is on it's way. I'll be installing it then checking for fit and the gaps. The pictures they have sent me are impressive. These things are going to be beefy. I'll post pictures when I'm done, for those that have interest.

I took the running boards off and test fitted the slider mock up. Looks good. The wife wants to kill me now because she can't get in. Thinking of buying N-Tech steps and making them fit with the new sliders. It's going to be a rough couple of weeks, because I'm not putting the boards back on...

Your wife might get used to it. Mine complains about getting in from time to time but when I bought a set of u-steps she didn't like those and lives without a step now.

When my wife got pregnant I got her a u-step and she loved it. It was easy to take on and off and she appreciated the assist into the vehicle.

I have not updated with pictures in a while. Shots of the running boards removed and of the rock slider mock up.

Because of my DayStar 1 inch body lift, I had custom (if Schwarttzy has his way, first of many) rock slids made. This is the test mock up for angles and gaps:

I'll post more pictures when I ge them installed

The gap from the body lift really isn't bad at all at least from the front. Will be interested to see how the new sliders look when complete.
