No prob. I'm at work until Saturday so I'll be checking up on the Hummer guys when I can. Rod Hall just pulled into Pit 5 where Chad Hall has been for a few hours. Unfortunately, Rob Everhart is still at Pit 1. :(

Rob got the new steering gear. He installed it last night and is going to start the Day 2 leg today with a 12 hour penalty. It looks like they are on the move now so lets hope for a smooth day! 8)

Such sad news. A psycho member on HML just posted that Rob is out of the race at this point. Not from a race inflicted break but instead a towing mishap. I'm bummed for all involved.

That is sad news. He has worked so hard to get that beast into racing. I hope the next one fairs better.

It was indeed a bummer...but super fun (and dirty). Thanks to all who lended a hand and helped with communication. James was was indispensible, I enjoyed driving around in his truck and watching him weld!

Day 1 we over-heated at mile 12. Lucky we had all our gear on, a hose blew and showered us with hot lava (no windshields). BITD rules won't allow pit crews on the course so we had to wait for everyone to pass before they would "come help". 3 hrs later a sweep truck shows up to tow us back to the startline. During the tow they ran us into a huge boulder that broke the steering gear (and other goodies not realized until thismorning at mile 18).

It's pretty gnarly doing 60 to 75 mph on zig-zagging dirt roads. I'll post more plus some pics when I'm home.

I forgot to mention that Rob's truck was really kicking ass! We were catching up to other trucks and trick buggies and today Steve and Troy passed several vehicles before steering issues crippled the truck.
