Any recommendations on tire sizes; I plan on getting a leveling kit. I can't decide weather to get 33's or 35's. The guy at Custom Truck Accessories in Carson City, NV doesn't think the 35's will fit. But everything I have read on hummer forums says that they will fit without rubbing, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, what size wheel should I get 17 or 18? I am looking Nitto Trail Grapplers with Fuel Octane or Fuel Hostage wheels.

Welcome to HXC!

Get the Bilstein front shock kit from TrailDuty and crank your torsion bars up a few turns. I ran that setup with 35's for over 3 years.
Miss you Rich! Thank's for all the memories!

Congratulations on the H3 8)

That's the setup I have been running for 4 years and I like it a lot better than the 33s I ran on my '06. Yes they will rub on the sway bar at full lock, more so to one direction than the other but that's only at full lock. With the turning radius of the H3 it's not an issue.

I'm running 16" wheel and if I recall correctly Bellvis was running blacked out stock 16" rims.

congrats on your purchase...Your HUMMER H3 looks identical to when I first got mine 2006..even the colour is the same...Now...since then I have done some mods that made it my own...You will soon be doing stuff and you have us to assist you in anyway we can....I have attached a few pics of the exterior of my 2006 HUMMER H3 and your timing is spot on as just purchased new tires or what I like to call NEW BOOTS for my HUMMER H3 and I just love the look and the ride...These are BFG 315/75/16 MUD TERRAINS on 16 rims(factory chromes)...I ran BFG ALL TERRAINS for years and the ride on these MUDS exceed the comfort ride level of the ALL TERRAINS hands down.
I was seriously looking at the COOPER SST mud terrains in the same size but spoke to some other owners of these particular coopers and was told the ride wasn't good...a lot of road noise....mind you ...I did also get the road noise warning on these BFG MUD TERRAINS but I have to tell you that these BFG MUD TERRAINS have got to be the best ride comfort I have ever had in a long time...I was running BFG ALL TERRAIN 295/75/16 TIRES FOR APPROX 2 YEARS and prior to that 285 /75/16 for 2 years prior to that...traded up every two years...the original tires were those tiny 265/75/16 from factory on aluminum rims..i purchased the chromes a few years back from a guy on ebay
hope this helps....max I would recommend though with standard ride height (add BLIESTEN FRONT LEVEL SHOCKS AND CRANK YOUR TORRSION BARS)...is a 315/75/16 tire...any bigger and your going to run into problems in a variety of ways unless you do a lift kit etc etc....I wasn't going to get into that.....the height now is great...a standard Hummer H3 on factory tires looks tiny when I'm side to side with it....So again, I hope this helps you out.......Take Care
PS...If you need any help with anything ,just email me at hummersam1963@gmail.com
I know the 2006 HUMMER inside and out...I have done a lot of mods to the engine area, exhaust area and the interior....SO IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS,,,,IM YOUR GO TO GUY ANYTIME BUDDY!!

You mention that "the guy at the CUSTOM TRUCK SHOP sez he thinks the 35s wont fit...stay clear of them...anyone with any knowledge of these trucks knows that 35 s fit without any issues...sometimes, not always will you get a little rubbing on a full turn but not all H3 s have that issue...why?...who knows...I as mentioned run 35's and the only thing I have done a few years back even before I purchased these massive 35's was I installed BLISTIEN FRONT LEVELLING SHOCKS FROM Trail Duty and cranked my torrision bars....that's it for ride height...so again......the 35's or 315/75/16 WILL FIT
take care...Sam

hey haven't been this forum in a while. Thanks for the great feedback. I really like the way the 35's look, about to purchase the 35x12.5x17 Nitto trail grappler and 17 in black raceline raptor wheels. going to crank torsion bars up and maybe get some leveling shocks shortly there after. I like the look of the 35's over the 33's and hey if I'm gonna spend the money wha's extra $100 or so on the tires? Still on the fence about keeping stock 16 or moving up to 17 in raceline. Thoughts?

PS Thanks for the info, I will post some pics as soon as i get the rig set up. I like what you have done with your Hummer. Thanks again.
