Postby Madison » Wed Dec 14, 2016 3:50 am

I have been tring to replace the radio of my 2009 H3, These are the steps I was trying to follow. I found this is kind of difficult to replace my car audio and I still haven't succeed in doing this. I want to share my

experience, hope it is helpful to others who want to replace their car's radio too.

1.Gathering the proper tools like screwdrivers,wire strippers,pilers.
2.Disconnect and isolate the negative cable from your car's battery.
3.Remove the old radio from the dashboard of your car.
4.Get a specific model new radio from a manufacturer like seicane.
5.Install the new radio to your car's dashboard opening.

What do you think about this? Is there any other steps I miss and any other tips you can advise and what I need to notice ? Also, I want to learn more about cars. Thanks & Regards.

Changine out your factory stereo for an aftermarket should be very easy and takes about 10-15 minutes. You need to get an install kit so that the new stereo fits in the dash properly. Second you need to get the correct wiring kit such as the GMOS-04 if you have the Monsoon system. The wiring kit is made to make it a plug and play swap while keeping OnStar and warning chimes functions.

First thing you do is wire up the new stereo wiring to the wiring kit. This will take the most time but doesn't take long then you install the mounting kit to the new stereo. At this point you are ready to pull the factory stereo from the dash. Once it's removed the new stereo will plug right into the factory plugs so you don't need to cut or splice any of the wiring. Mount the stereo, put the dash piece back on and you are ready to go.
