Idle Problems

Postby Firefighter » Wed Sep 11, 2013 12:17 pm

Hey everyone. I'm looking for some advice or information about what would be causing my 03 Hummer H2 to have idling issues. Today I took my truck for a wash. After I was completed I started my truck and noticed it idled high then idled low to the point of wanting to die out. After driving it a few hundred yards I stopped at a stoplight and it idled high for a few seconds the went low again to where it wanted to stall again. It continues to do this. When I start the truck it starts at approx. 2500 rpms then idles down to approx. 500 rms. What could cause this issue? Could I have got some water somewhere that I shouldn't have?

Check your air filter, clean your throttle body with TB cleaner and clean you mass air flow sensor with the right cleaner. That's a good starting point then you can check you ignition coils, spark plugs and fuel filter. Good luck and keep us posted!!!
