H3 Alarm

Postby coolingman » Thu Dec 22, 2016 6:07 pm

New to this forum. I own 2 H3's. One is an 06 and the other an 07. I'm wondering if anyone has experienced the horn alarm goin off when the door is opened by the key. The key is factory OEM and this has never happened before. It all of a sudden started doing this. The only thing that has changed is the lock has become a little stiff. I sprayed WD40 into the lock mechanism and the lock is a bit more free but the alarm still goes off when unlocking it with the key. Everything works fine when unlocking with the key fob. Anyone experienced this before?

When unlocking with the key the alarm does not know you unlocked the door, it only senses that a door is opened and the alarm has not been turned off. You have to disarm the alarm with the key fob for it not to go off when you open the doors.

Mark is correct.
Read the owner's manual....
The alarm goes off if a locked door
is not opened using the RKE
transmitter, or by OnStarĀ®.

Thanks....what was happening was. I would unlock the door with the key. when I opened it the alarm would go off. This hasn't happened before and the key fob hasn't been used for several months to lock or unlock the doors. The lock was sticking a bit so I sprayed a bit of WD40 into the lock and worked it with the key a bit and let sit over night. The lock is now working freely and the alarm doesn't go off when unlocked anymore. All good now.

Glad to hear it's all working right again but strange that the alarm was going off due to a sticky lock mechanism.
