You should wheel it a bit before you make any decisions on a lift unless you primary goal is the look. You would be amazed at what a stock H3 is capable of and you don't need a lift if you want to just go up to 35" tires. If you want a lift to go even larger tire wise your are going to run into other issues such a lack of power and more stress on components. The red H3 you posted used to be owned by a member here, was running 37" tires and was built by a shop a friend of ours used to own here. Even with a PCM tune the lack of power on the highway was very noticeable. As far as what tire to go with I love my BFG KM2s but the terrain you will see most would be the biggest deciding factor in choosing a tire. Also keep in mind that if you might go with a lift later it could affect your wheel choices. Wheels is also an item that it really comes down to personal preference and doesn't really matter what others think. It appears you really like the rock stars so go with them.

Just do the Bilstein shocks and add 35's.

It will look like my old H3.

1. What is the height limit in most City Parking Garages?
2. I am driving 95% street but want the option to pull someone out in Beach Sand or Hurricane damages, being able to drive out.
3. Please Advise: Tires / Wheel / Lift Kit and or Shocks?
4. How will these modifications affect Gas Mileage and Wear / Tear?
5. Lifting vehicle seems like I would be safer. higher safer as long as I'm not speeding around tight corners.

WHEELS: Dick Cepek DC-2 or XD Rock Star?

1. Not sure the standard height of a parking garage but I had to park in one a couple of years ago and I couldn't have gotten a piece of paper between the concrete support and the pelican case on my roof rack when I was parked. I'm not running a lift but am running 35" tires.

2. Your H3 is perfectly setup stock for 95% on road and the occasional beach sand recovery. Driven through plenty of hurricane damage in a stock H3 but of course you never know what you are going to run into.

3. Tires and wheels are personal preference and depend on the terrain you are going to be in. If your going to lift I would only go with the Rancho lift. Shocks are going to be determined by what you end up doing.

4. Larger tires and lift are going to reduce your mileage, reduce your power and add extra wear/tear on components.

5. Stock is the safest setup for a vehicle. With a lift you are more likely to go over regardless of speeding. Doesn't mean you will but you have a higher center of gravity so any situation such as an accident where that is a factor your chances or rolling will go up. Lifting the vehicle won't make it dangerous (assuming quality lift and work) but it certainly doesn't make it safer.

Echoing what Mark has said...

Do some searching here and on other forums. The H3 has been around without much change for some years now. See what works for your applications and go for it.

The Less Expensive way out:
1. No lift - do the torsion bar front raise and reshock all 4 corners.
2. no wheels - have your wheels Powder Coated (7000+ colors)
3. More money for Tires and maybe a second set of Wheels (Summer tires and Winter tires) or (daily tires and weekend tires)
