power steering whine

been getting colder here in CO and i have noticed when i start up my h3 there is a whine that gets worse when turning the wheeels coming from the power steering pump. once it's warmed up it goes away.

this summer i added some lucas power steering w/conditioner and when i looked in the reservoir, there appears to be some coagilation (sp?). it there a way to empty/refill the power steering fluid?? or is the pump faulty?

I would change the fluid before replacing

I never changed the PS fluid in the H3 but on other cars over the years I siphoned it out.(if you want to get more out start truck,turn wheel several times ,and siphon again)

PS and brake fluid are the only fluids I didnt change in my H3,will change them at 100k
