Driving Issue

Postby amrg » Fri Dec 02, 2011 5:10 am

Hello,

I have a problem with my 06 H3 that occurs constantly whenever I left my foot of the gas while driving and then press it again. The car feels like it jerks or thumps just when it engages! I cant tell what it was, but I can replicate it if i keep my self in gear, take my foot of the gas and then press it again, and the thump happens again.
Last time i Visited the dealer they said I need to have my diferential crossmember replaced, but I choose not to since it was gona cost me 750 dollars to do the whole thing. Is this the reason for this? Ive already read the cross member DIY fix. But is my problem related to that?

Thanks.

Definitely sounds like the diff bushing which resides in the crossmember. They won't sell the bushing alone, but it is available online. Just don't recall where. Much cheaper fix. Somebody else may be able to provide you with the source. Since I don't have IFS, I don't keep tabs on those fixes.

Like Recon said, sure sounds like it's the crossmember bushing.

The H3 has a driveline slop problem to begin with. The cross-member bushing going bad just adds to that issue. It will return to normal when you fix the bushing. My H3 always had it real bad even with a new bushing in the cross-member.
