Sy Klone Precleaner

H3 Specific Information

Sy Klone Precleaner

Postby nugget » Sun Apr 19, 2009 2:43 pm

Bit the bullet and fitted a Sy Klone Pre Cleaner. Some might like the look..most probably won't but on this one, function is what I am after. We are about to leave on a 6,000km (3,700 mile) out back trak, nearly half of which will be on dirt roads/tracks/desert.

The Sy Klone has an impeller inside which spins, throwing the heavier particles to the outer edge of the dome and then they are expelled through this slot.

They also claim to deliver more air which should help the supercharger....I'll keep you posted on that one!

Cool. So, you won't have situations like this is what you're saying?

This is my Airaid filter, that has a prefilter on it, after three months of road and wheeling use. :o

Both Rich and H1SlantBack have similar units on their H1s, they seem to work pretty good :yup:

I actually like the look of the pre-cleaner better than normal snorkel intake. I bet it really helps out.

Well I am very impressed with the way the pre cleaner worked on our trip...6,200kms with 1,500kms of Aussie outback dirt roads/tracks. The cleaner is almost like before i left. There is minor discolouration where the air inlet comes into the air box, but the rest of the air cleaner looks like it has just been cleaned!

I like the look of it better than the safari intake you had and it certainly looks like it does a great job.

The pre-filter just slides onto 4" ABS (atleast the one I have). Attach the ABS extension to the H1 stem with a simple a 4" to 4" no-hub connecter (rubber boot with 2 hose clamps) from home depot ($5).

Lemme know if you need up close photo's.

thanks Rich -- I haven't looked that close being away for the year. They are one of the sponsors of the Psycho racer so we got a bunch for the group. Now that I'm home I'll have a chance to get out and finally finish my truck (it was 80% ready for Fordyce last year when I had to bail for work).
