Have you tried Predator inc, or blue hummer, or Hummer parts Guy? they may be able to help or tell you someone who can

Hummer parts guy is great and sells a lot of stuff but not a cummins kit. Blue balls hummer would have to have someone else make a kit and then rip off ( like dave pyles does) the design and make it gimmicky an ridiculously overpriced. Predator-well just look at their horrible reputation and their work come backs. If they cant do it right at there shop what would make you think that there kit, if they even sell one would be any good. Big Dog Offroad has been working on a diy cummins kit for a few years. They have it 95+% complete but there is a lot if details to iron out. The engine mounts set up the entire geometry of the build. There is a lot more issues than you think to doing it properly. There is a lot of custom stuff needed not just the engine and trans. I would save your pennies and wait for the big dog offroad kit because i know it will be meticulously perfect- not some ikea kit that comes with some crappy directions and a chinese allen wrench. If your dooing a engine conversion i would pull the body off, remove the suspension, and the entire power terrain. Sandblast and powder coat everything. I would go in with auburn differential lockers- big dog has them on sale right now. Diff lockers are the mod you hummer needs.

Thanks Ian, I'm very New to H1 and the guys who are out there to get parts and help from. I appreciate all the insight I can get into who to seek help from when it comes to upgrading or simply maintaining my machine.

I dont know when the big dog cummins kit will be for sale exactly but its real, real close. The kit includes everything except the cummins engine(12 or 24 valve or the 6.7) and allison trans. Its custom engine mounts, fuel tank, drive shaft, crossmembers, fan & fan shroud, all the electrical stuff meeded, gauges, and a list of other cool stuff. If your doing a cummins conversion i would call big dog offroad and get a set of Auburn differental E lockers. There on sale right now but going quick. Differental lockers will save so much wear and tear on your vehicle and they basicly pay for them self if you save a transmission rebuild.

What about if your not doing a swap, do you still recommend the auburn e lockers?

Differental lockers are the one option that should have been from the factory. Get some diff lockers, you wont be disapponted. Bigdogoffroad.com has them on sale.

is it a hard swap or can you simply remove axles drive shaft brakes and drop diff out of frame?
