Dave Breggin at Blue Hummer is good to go. Arguably one of the top 3 H1 parts vendors in the country. Give him a call. He also sells rebuild kits for the starter.

Blue Hummer had the starter on back order. I purchased it form Adventure Accessories $890. He said I could get rebuild for 400 plus core, but they did not have any.

I am also now waiting on 12k axle upgrade kit since I broke a 10 K axle already and would like to got to 40" tires.
So now I'm jonesing because I cannot drive the hummer, with broke axle. T case has to be Locked to move and I'm not ready to tear that up yet. So I patiently wait on parts...

I just rebuilt mine in the garage a few weeks ago when the H1 stopped starting... Love saying that ;-)... I was able to rebuild it without having any parts on hand. Found that there was enough carbon buildup in the case to supply a resistor factory!

Cleaned and polished the windings... Nothing looked burned... Brushes still had lots of life left in them. Oiled the bearings and she's been starting every time since.
