Moab mid to late august

Hey folks, i know there are at least two organized events for Moab in August, but there is some chance that timing in life won't let me make it to go with either of those.

Its my intent to get to Moab before school starts and week-long-absences are hard for me to do, and while i'm tring to get down there the week of the planned events, i may stay longer or i may not make it until just after that & thought i'd ask if anybody else is in a similar situation.

I have a list of obstacles that i plan to tackle (subject to revision based on impressions of difficulty and whatever else, of course).
