has anyone done south coast ridge & prewitt ridge trail ?

on page 175&177 of the northern guide to california backroads and 4 wheel drive trails by charels a wells ..... ( man can that title be any longer ..)
has anyone ran these trails ? there in or near monterey california it says its easy and very scenic

Yep. First time my truck was off pavement. (makes me a little misty just thinking about it :cry: ;) )

It's basically a fire/hunting road. But very scenic, with views into the valley and out to the Pacific. Lots of unimproved campsites as well.

The last pics in my gallery are actually of Old Coast Road. Even easier, but again, nice scenery. You can easily do both in a day.

And make sure to gas up in Carmel or Monterrey. IIRC, the only gas after that is in Gorda, near the end of South Ridge. And it's quite a bit more expensive.

thanks for the reply sewie . from the pics the roads seem alittle to easy but looks like a easy sunday cruise .
