HAWAII 4x4 ASSOC. NEED YOUR HELP & IDEAS

Postby mikeHI » Sat Feb 23, 2008 6:27 pm

It has taken some time but finally I think we are able to get organized here in Hawaii to form an association that deals with trail access and building of ORV parks. I had gathered together a number of people at my home last night to discuss forming a 501(c)3 non-profit that will work to open access on all islands. Up until now there was no one group that was organized for one defined purpose. The 4x4 clubs were more like HXC. We are working on by-laws and other items and I hope that the power of numbers and a defined goal will finally turn back the tide of trail closure and lack of concern by our state DLNR. I am posting this here as a request for any and all help to get us off the ground. Please feel free to post here or contact me via PM.

Thanks,

Mike Elliott

Check out the land use section on Del Albright's site for starters.

http://www.delalbright.com/Access/landuse.htm

Then see if you can get in touch with similar organizations like CA4WDC. They also have their by-laws posted on the website so you can get an idea how to form yours.
