Sounds like a great place - - I hope we get the chance to plan a trip.....

So, how does a stock H1 fare down there??

A stock H1 should do fine. you should be able to do almost all of the trails. And if you have the same disreguard for damage that my brother has in his the only thing you would ever need worry about is high centering, but with a winch or strap even that is no problem. :D
I imagine when the army gave their specs for their new general purpose vehicle they had the type terrain we have in mind.
