Help Rebuild the Land Use Buggy 4405

Postby Mark » Wed Jun 02, 2010 11:02 am

Below is a copy of Bebe's post over on Pirate regarding the 4405 Land Use Race Buggy and the need for help rebuilding it. This buggy is a major asset in getting the word out to help us continue to have access to our public lands so everyone please do whatever you can to help :yup:

We are all floored by today's news of the tragic fire that destroyed the famous 4405 Land Use Race Buggy.

http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=891108

Travis and Trout are completely devastated, and are too proud to accept help. But we need this buggy back on the trail and track, because the message is too important.

Many of you have expressed a desire to donate, parts and funds to help put this icon back on the trail and back on the Ultra 4 circuit, where the message about Land Use, responsible recreation and the importance of being involved can continue to be brought to the masses.

The attention it has brought to Land Use has been phenomenal, and has had measurable effect in saving our trails. It's been to both Friends of the Rubicon and Friends of El Dorado Work Parties, Schools, Conventions, Parades, and in Magazines, spreading the word about Land Use and being ambassadors for our Sport. It has brought nearly $20,000 in donations to Blue Ribbon Coalition (just from the last KOH event), and it helps to generate memberships to the Friends of Groups and Local Associations.

We had so many plans to continue to spread the word.

Kurt, MFS and I, along with the help of our Friends and Land Use Advocates on Pirate 4X4, can surely pull this off with your help.

MFS has a paypal account rebuild4405@mfs-ca.com, where if you would like to make a donation to help rebuild the Land Use Buggy you can. It will be solely used for that purpose.(Make sure you put "for the 4405" in the notes) No donation is too small, $5 or $10 bucks will help.

If you want to donate parts, you can contact me at bebehumr at gmail dot com, and I will track the donated parts and create a 'registry' for parts.

The message of Keep Public Lands Open to the Public must continue.

Thank you for Posting Mark, I've spent many a day and night supporting this team, and the news was devastating. Hopefully some of our Hummer Friends will pitch in a little, or buy some of the products that are now for sale to help generate funds.
WARNING: It's not a "MOD" till the sawzall comes out, and then it's all downhill from there
