anyone know of anywhere good to wheel in virginia?

when i get my truck which ever truck that may be i want to take it offroad soooo im looking for places close to home any help would be great!

Not sure where you are in VA, but if you're near Virginia Beach, you might go down to Carova on The Outer Banks. You will not find anything technical, but it is a beatiful place to at least drive beyond the pavement's end. Below is a repost with some pics from another forum:

Here are a few pics from my vacation to North Carolina's Outer Banks. It is not what I would consider a wheeling spot. If that's what you are expecting, you'll probably be disappointed, but there are lots of areas to explore and amazing things to see that you can not get to without 4WD. The first pic is the Hummer on the beach in Carova (northernmost point of the Outer Banks), the second is of the wild horses that roam this area. Third is of the H3's first ever Jeep recovery...that one's gotta' make you feel good! :D And the fourth is of the second Jeep recovery. My daughter took her Jeep and got stuck on the beach. ;)

yea ive been down to obx quite a few times but im not a big fan of sand and also im more north im just east of fredericksburg on the northern neck peninsula im 20 minutes from maryland and 40 miles south of d.c.. i know of one ohv park down near roanoke but thats a 5 hour drive from me. maybe when i get my truck ill get a group to go to jefferson and washington national forest ohv park...thats the only park i know of. its north west of roanoke in the mountains. nice area.
