Sorry for all the trash lately

Postby Mark » Sun Nov 24, 2013 7:07 pm

The spammers have been very busy the past week. I updated the forum to help combat them on Friday and made some changes to the registration process late Friday but none of it seems to have helped. Just deleted several hundred posts with the help of clean slate. Will keep working on keeping them out so please be patient.

Also just delete a little over 300 new accounts (registered since early AM yesterday) that had not yet been activated. This is common when spammers attack but unfortunately there could have been some legitimate accounts caught up in this. If you registered but hadn't activated your account during this time I apologized and hope you will reregister.

Freakin spammers suck. Thanks Mark. I have a company out of tampa that keeps hitting my firewall trying to login to my vpn, I have them blocked and even called them to talk to their IT department and yet they still continue to hit my firewall daily.

That sucks but it's good you know who they are. 5 years of so ago I had a spammer sending out emails with the reply to address being from one of my domains so I was getting all their bounced emails. Was also to track them down with some research and found they were in Tampa. Made some calls and got them shut down. Didn't really hurt them as they would just move on to another domain and IP but it felt good getting some payback even if minimal.
