The Dark Side - New Rig..

Postby The Other Rob » Sat Feb 04, 2012 8:11 pm

Think I've got a deal worked out on a Jeep.. Pretty good price agreed on and if everything works out right, we'll be going to pick it up next weekend. Gonna be a pretty big step and departure from the H3.. It's a low mile 2003 Rubicon that's mildly built and comes with a few extra parts..

Thought I'd toss a few teaser pics out here this week..

Seriously though, you have to do what you have to do, and being that I am close to the same decision I am just going to call you the The Great Enlightener, please tell us what you think of your new toy.

Looks Sweet Rob! I am happy for you, but sad too.

Should be a great spot to start with.. Either Start with building or just start getting back up in the mountains..!!!

Personally I can see a very quick easy 4" lift with something like Rough Country N2.0 kit for $500 and a set of 33" Goodyear DuraTracs.. With that you're set for about 90% of whatever Colorado will ever toss at you..

Are you going to come here and put those things on for me? :D :P I am joking.

I am going to look more, this jeep looks all nice, but is not really doing much for me, like I got to have it kind of deal. I am hoping to find a jeep similar to yours, where I am not putting mods on it from the get-go, I am still paying for my lastest repair bill for Kashmir, which I must say he is not misbehaving right now. I got the fluid changed in the transmission and rear diff, which seemed to make a difference. I do not know? Still getting rid of him though, maybe I keep a boyfriend then, because my last believed I could never love him like my Hummer. Funny.

Tell ya what.. You get the Jeep.. Call up Rough Country and ask for Ryan.. Tell him you're a friend of Token's... Have him ship the lift kit and tires to Spyder Offroad.. Take a week off from work, give Clyde at Spyder $25 an hour for use of the shop space and lift, drive down, buy pizza and beer for the crew that shows up and you'll drive back home with a lift kit installed..

Just give us some notice.. Last lift party we had for someone, we had 4 folks on the front and 4 on the rear and had it back on the ground in a bit over 2 hours..

Keep looking for what you want, there are some VERY good deals to be found if you take your time.. But when you find that good deal and you know it's the one, jump on it, they aren't lasting long.. I've seen several mid-mileage 2000 and later model Jeep TJ's come up for under $12K in the past 2 weeks.. Prices will soon start to go up a bit when the sun comes out and thing start to thaw up there.. Drop tops start looking a lot better to folks when spring starts springing..

Wish you lived closer! (Thank you Rob) My vaction time is already taken for the year.

I have decided I want a longer wheel base, so this jeep or the like is out of the question. What do I want? I do not know as of yet, it is pretty hard, because what can replace a Hummer, "Nothing." Within the next few weeks, before the end of the month, more than likely, I will have my new 4-wheel drive.
